Multi award winning milliner, designer, instructor and author Sophie Beale developed her unique blend of knowledge working in some of London’s finest couture Millinery workrooms where she made hats for many celebrities and fashion houses, Sophie graduated from the HNC Millinery at world-renowned Kensington and Chelsea College, having previously studied with Royal Milliner Rose Cory and respected Milliner Hilary Peach.

Using this wide ranging knowledge of millinery and degree in Costume design, Sophie Beale teaches her craft within the UK and internationally. Her hats have been exhibited at Paris and London Fashion week as part of the Headonism initiative, amongst Europe’s finest artisans at Homo Faber Venice and within a permanent display at the National Museum of Scotland. Sophie and her work have appeared in Television programs, the cover of the Royal Ascot Style Guide and as part of the official ‘Ascot Millinery Collective’, and sold at shops such as Fortnum & Mason and Fenwick.

Once named ‘Britain’s hottest new Milliner’ by The British Fashion Council and Grazia Magazine, Sophie creates innovative, chic and flattering headpieces with a graceful delicacy that plays against a bold yet sensitively considered line. She is a founder member of the British Hat Guild and regularly designs the ‘inspiration’ pages for the industry’s ‘The Hat magazine’.
